Staff

Our program staff is compiled of members of the Barnstormers Theater board & Volunteers.  This team is entrusted with the sole purpose of executing a successful, educational and enjoyable program.

Music Director

L. Jeffrey “Buzz” DiSabatino:
Mr. DiSabatino has been doing theater for over 50 years.  He stated his theater career at the age of 5 as a dancer and starting directing at the age of 16, where he opened 2 theater companies in the State of Delaware.  Mr. DiSabatino also worked in professional theater, touring with Cats, Tommy Cash and Hall and Oats.  He has been with The Barnstormers Theater for over 10 years. Prior to coming to The Barnstormers, he has worked at several Community, Children and Regional Theaters in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania.  Buzz has a degree in Technical Theater Management and Public Administration (Non-Profit concentration) along with several others.  Jeff has won awards at the state, regional and national levels for community theaters in Directing, Lighting, Set Design, chorography and special effects.  Mr. DiSabatino also currently serves as President of The Barnstormers, VP of Festivals for the Easter States Theater Association and President of The Delaware Theater Association.

Katie VanNewkirk:

​Katie, a Delco native, holds a Bachelors of Music from Immaculata University. She is also Board-Certified music therapist specializing in dementia and elder care. She is currently working on her Masters of Health Care Administration. Katie is involved in theater both on stage and off stage. Recent productions credits: Bat Boy (Barnstormers), Bright Star, The Little Mermaid and 9 to 5 (Immaculata University). Favorite stage credits: Ilona in She Loves Me (CSP), My Favorite Things Cabaret (NCT), Hunchback of Notre Dame (CSP) and Sarah in Toxic Avenger (Barnstormers).
